Convert PDF files to editable Word DOCX
NetroDoc converts an unlocked PDF into a Word DOCX document using a dedicated pdf2docx conversion engine.
The converter reconstructs editable text and attempts to preserve images, paragraphs, tables, and page layout. Complex PDF designs can still require review in Word.
How to convert PDF to Word
Upload your PDF
Choose an unlocked PDF or drop it into the NetroDoc workspace.
Choose PDF to Word
Start the PDF to Word action shown for the selected file.
Download the DOCX
NetroDoc builds and verifies the Word document before starting the download.
What happens during PDF to Word conversion?
The PDF is validated before conversion. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first, and the current PDF to Word tool accepts source documents of up to 300 pages.
A dedicated server-side pdf2docx environment analyzes PDF text blocks, images, drawing geometry, and layout, then reconstructs the content inside an OOXML Word document.
PDF and Word use different layout models. Multi-column pages, complex tables, unusual fonts, forms, annotations, mathematical notation, or highly designed documents may not reproduce exactly and should be reviewed after conversion.
This tool does not perform OCR. Scanned image-only PDFs may contain images in the DOCX but will not automatically become editable text.
When is PDF to Word useful?
Edit existing documents
Move selectable PDF text into Word so wording and formatting can be updated.
Reuse reports and forms
Recover document content into a DOCX instead of rebuilding it manually.
Continue drafting
Use a PDF as the starting point for an editable Word version.
Keep more structure
Preserve more layout and visual structure than a plain TXT export can provide.
Temporary server-side processing
The uploaded PDF is processed in a temporary working directory on the NetroDoc server. The conversion path does not intentionally send the document to a third-party conversion service or cloud API.
PDF to Word runs in a dedicated local conversion environment isolated from the main web application dependencies. Temporary working files are removed after the response is sent or when conversion fails.
No account is required. The original upload is not modified.
