Use Image to Text online
Extract plain UTF-8 text from a JPG or PNG when the words matter more than the page appearance.
NetroDoc runs OCR on the image and returns a TXT file for copying, searching, indexing, or importing into another editor. The TXT output does not preserve the source image layout.
How to use Image to Text
Upload the file
Choose a supported JPG / PNG file or drop it into the workspace.
Review and start
Check the selected action, configure any available options, and start processing.
Download the result
When processing finishes, download the generated UTF-8 TXT file to your device.
What happens during processing?
Image to Text recognizes visible characters and writes the recognized content as plain UTF-8 text. It does not reproduce columns, fonts, spacing, graphics, or the original page image.
The selectable OCR languages are English, Dutch, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Accuracy depends on sharpness, contrast, orientation, language choice, and print quality.
Treat the TXT result as a transcription draft. Verify names, dates, amounts, identification numbers, and other short high-value fields against the source image before relying on them.
When is this tool useful?
Copy text from scans
Turn printed text in a photo or scan into plain text that can be copied into another document.
Search and index content
Create a text-only version that can be searched, indexed, or compared without carrying the page image.
Move words into an editor
Use the OCR result as a draft for notes, translation, proofreading, or structured data entry.
Extract text from screenshots
Recover printed words from screenshots or photographed pages when manual retyping would be slower.
Temporary and private processing
The uploaded file is processed in a temporary server workspace. The current pipeline does not intentionally send it to an external conversion or cloud API.
Temporary job files are removed by the application workflow after completion or failure. No NetroDoc account is required.
Privacy →Image to Text FAQ
Does TXT preserve the original layout?
No. The output is plain UTF-8 text, so page geometry, fonts, images, and exact column layout are not preserved.
How accurate is the OCR?
Accuracy depends on the source image. Review names, dates, numbers, and other important fields against the original image.
Which OCR languages are available?
English, Dutch, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese are available in the current OCR language set.
Does this guarantee handwriting recognition?
No. The controlled NetroDoc evidence did not benchmark handwriting, and handwritten text can be substantially harder to recognize than clear print.
Where is my file processed?
It is processed in a temporary workspace on the NetroDoc server and is not intentionally sent to a third-party conversion API.
